James is the principle dentist here at Tongwynlais dental care.
He qualified from the University of Wales college of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001 and worked in general dental practices in South Wales until establishing Tongwynlais dental care in 2004. The practice has now grown to offer comprehensive NHS, Private and cosmetic dental care with a large and dedicated team of dental professionals and support staff. Originally from Whitchurch James attended Whitchurch High school and then sixth form at Christ College, Brecon.
In 2007 James became a dental Vocational Trainer- where he taught and mentored newly qualified dentists – and now lectures in the Postgraduate Dental Department both to Dentists and Dental therapists.
In 2013 he sat and passed membership examinations to become a Member of the Joint Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. A highly regarded dental postgraduate qualification – and is currently studying for an MSc in Advanced general dental practice.
James loves all aspects of general dental practice and particularly enjoys providing patients with cosmetic solutions to their teeth to give patients a more confident smile. With dental hygiene, orthodontic tooth movement, cosmetic veneers and tooth whitening. Caring for nervous patients as well as families are equally as fulfilling – ‘ providing preventative dental care is the core of what we do here.’
